1 BRIDGE STREET
Project as a catalyst for urban renewal is about the best way to sum up this project. The existing building dated back to its first use as a hardware store and then continued to be utilized for industrial activities thereafter. When our client purchased this property, he was the first person who had the vision to re-purpose an existing property within the Baakens Valley precinct.
Extensive alterations saw the remodeling of the building, while incorporating elements of the existing character of what once was. The re-purposed building took on a new mixed-use zoning. The building now accommodates a brewery, restaurant, showrooms, offices and a brand Agency and has been featured in many magazines.

LOCATION
Baakens Valley, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape
The Baakens Valley is one of Port Elizabeth’s most distinctive natural corridors, winding through the city with a mix of indigenous vegetation, walking trails and wildlife that bring a sense of calm to the urban edge. At its heart lies the Bridge Street precinct, where historic warehouses and old river-facing structures have been reimagined into a lively hub of restaurants, breweries, studios and small businesses. This blend of raw landscape and revitalised industrial character gives the valley its unique energy, initiating a place where nature, history and city life meet in one connected, creative pocket of Port Elizabeth.
