PROJECT 1956

This project is a perfect example of a progressive and collaborative design journey between architect and client, where ideas were explored, refined and elevated through ongoing conversation and trust.

The house replaces an existing cottage on a very restricted site, which required thoughtful planning and a clear design intention from the outset. Working closely with the clients, we developed an aesthetic that responded to the site’s constraints and reflected their personal taste, lifestyle and long term needs. The result is a home that sits confidently within its setting while feeling entirely tailored to the people who live in it, a product of shared vision, careful consideration and a truly collaborative process.

LOCATION

Leisure Isle, Knysna, Western Cape

Knysna’s Leisure Isle offers a calm and refined way of coastal living, surrounded by tranquil lagoon waters, tree lined streets and a strong sense of community. With its safe walkability, inviting beaches and sweeping views across the Heads and the lagoon, the island feels like a peaceful retreat while still being minutes from the energy of Knysna town. Homes here embrace outdoor living, natural light and a slower pace, making Leisure Isle one of the most sought after residential pockets on the Garden Route for those who value beauty, serenity and a close connection to the water.
