Denau Packhouse

Situated in the Breede Valley in the Western Cape.
Our client, Denau, together with Stance Consulting Engineers, approached DMV to design a unique fruit packing facility.

DMV’s approach was aimed at breaking away from the stereotypical portal frame structure conventionally used with similar industrial facilities.

Our design intent included the use of two striking mono-pitch forms, that joins along the ridge line of the steel structure. With one side of the structure standing taller than the other, DMV was able to further play with the use of colour for the roof sheeting to assist in breaking down the scale of the building and in turn move away from a heavy industrial style shed.

We truly believe that this fruit packing facility will put Denau a step ahead of its competitors and further cement its roots in the Breede Valley. This is a masterpiece of form and function.
